Abstract

ESG is the next stage in the development of the economy, taking place along with the process of its digital transformation. This policy includes three components (environmental, social, governance) considered as markers of development success. The stability of both individual companies and the entire industry and the country's economy depends on how balanced these three components are. Modern fisheries are at the initial stage of implementing the principles of ESG, the results of which will largely determine the future of this industry.

The purpose of the article is to study the key areas of influence of the ESG policy on the current and future state of companies in the fishing industry. We consider revenue growth, cost reduction, administrative regulation, labor productivity growth and capital optimization as such areas. We conclude that implementing an ESG policy is not an easy task. However, its solution is a necessary condition for sustainable business development.
