Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to assess the impact of foreign trade policy on the consumption of fish products and formulate proposals for adjusting the Russian fisheries policy. The basis of the study is the balance method, which is used to analyze the structure of one of the indicators of the availability of fish products the level of their consumption. We use a deterministic model to assess the degree of influence of the initial parameters on the final indicator. We have revealed a strong dependence of the indicator of the level of consumption of fish products on their foreign trade. The authors made recommendations for improving this indicator. It is concluded that the exclusion of the state program for the development of the fishery complex of the indicator of the level of consumption of fish products looks insufficiently thought out, supports the trend of reducing the availability of fish products, creates threats to the deterioration of well-being and weakening food security. The results obtained can be used to substantiate decisions on adjusting the fishery policy in the Russian Federation.
