The influence of information economy upon the appearance of new possibilities for market share expansion

Abstract

In this article the author regarded the basic directions of ongoing influence of information economy and information technologies upon the appearance of new possibilities for market share expansion. Among such directions it was highlighted the main one, which assumes the raise of enterprise flexibility in market environment and comes out in foundation of virtual enterprises or (which is more spread) enterprises with the properties of virtuality. The analysis was conducted with respect to the properties of external market environment of enterprises, which were caused by information technologies. It was revealed the peculiarities of the influence caused by external market environment upon in conditions of information economy. It was regarded such two components of providing enterprise flexibility as the speed of enterprise adaptation towards the changes of external market environment, and the quality of enterprise reaction on the changes of external market environment. The timely access towards necessary information flows was regarded as the starting precondition of ensuring enterprise reaction flexibility related to the changes of external market environment. The providence of enterprise organization structure flexibility was presented as the key precondition for flexibility of enterprise reaction upon the changes of external market environment. The virtualization of enterprises was presented as the perspective possibility for providing the flexibility of enterprise organizational structure. The information technologies were analyzed as the primary source and the basis for enterprise virtualization implementation. As the part of the tendency of enterprise virtualization it was highlighted two components: the appearance of virtuality properties in activity of ordinary enterprises and immediately the foundation of virtual enterprises. It was analyzed the ongoing raise of virtuality properties in the activity of modern enterprises as the consequence of overcoming the psychological barrier for spreading telework fulfilled during the pandemic period. It was revealed the group of factors, which restrains the foundation of directly virtual enterprises. It was analyzed the common features and differences between ordinary enterprises, virtual enterprises and projects.
